“Yeah, well if I don’t want to get caught sneaking out after curfew then yeah. I resort to the window.” he laughs as he explained. “It doesn’t hurt much anymore.. I’m quite use to doing this actually…” Blake stuck his hands into the pockets of his coat and turned over to James who seemed to be really nervous and tense about something. He looks to his brother and asks, “Something wrong..” he raised an eyebrow and looked confusedly at him. “You seem kind of… umm.. worried…” Blake stopped walking in the middle and waited for James to give him an answer.
"Oh," James replied simply, to Blake’s explanation of jumping out windows. He pressed his lips together, idly staring about the sky, nerves wracking him into tension. There was no use in regretting his escape, he realized, but that didn’t mean he’d just made himself worried. His thoughts were interrupted once again by Blake’s voice. "Hm?" he asked, raising his eyebrows. He’d noticed Blake had stopped walking. James stopped, too, running his hand through his hair several times. "Oh. I’m fine," he assured Blake, even though he really wasn’t, and he was questioning why the hell he’d even asked Blake if he could tag along, anyway. "Not worried." James fathomed a smile, but it was obvious that it was fake.
Blake sat on the sidewalk in front of his house as he waited for James. He looked around and spotted a figure coming towards him. Blake stood up silently for a while until he could get a clear vision of who it was. Remembering that he was meeting up with James, he calmed down for a second and walked up to the figure. He let out a long breath as it had been his brother, he greeted him with a simple “Hello” and they continued to walk the direction away from James’s house. As James asked Blake a question he simply replied with a shrug and explained, “Not sure… I guess only when have energy to jump out of my window.” he laughed and turned to James who was looking rather frightened and frozen.
"Oh, okay," James replied simply, hands fidgeting in his pocket. He cleared his throat and chewed so hard on his lower lip that it almost bled. After a while he asked, "Wait, you jump out of your window?” Eyebrows furrowing, he continued, “Doesn’t that hurt?” Seeing to it that James had a depriving childhood and had never really gone out much on his own, James didn’t know a lot about the outside world. He didn’t know how incredibly stupid he sounded when he asked these things, but he couldn’t help himself. There were just too many things to know about in this little time that he had alone to himself and his brother - the brother he didn’t even know existed until a few days ago. As he and Blake walked, he zipped and unzipped the first half of his hoodie zipper, as a way to block the nerving tension that was riding his brain.
James was nervous. Deadly nervous. He wasn’t supposed to get out of the house; he was supposed to stay indoors, which his parents had deemed safe. Getting out of the house would be a taboo thing to do, and he’d get into a load of trouble if he dare stepped foot out the door without his family surrounding him. But he was bored, he was slowly falling into insanity from lack of sleep and lack of his piano, and he needed to get the hell out of the house. He made sure the house was quiet, and that his family was asleep. Throwing his hoodie over himself, he quickly and silently escaped to meet up with Blake, who was already waiting out on the sidewalk. Jogging down the sidewalk and over to his brother, James lifted a hand and gave a weak smile, as he had no idea why the hell he was rebelling. “Hey,” he muttered. He shoved his hands into his pockets and rocked back and forth, glancing at the doorway of his home apprehensively. Letting out a sigh, he asked Blake curiously, “Do you go on walks often?”
Well alright then.. ?
You sure you won’t get in trouble…?
James actually just shrugs again. I dunno, maybe.
Well.. You want to come along or not?
I thought you’re not allowed to leave the house…
James actually just shrugs.
Going for a late night walk. Anyone care to join?
Mind if I join?
Yeah, why not?
Um, I dunno… I just…
I thought beds were made for sleeping.
That’s fun… I guess.
You jump on beds…?
